Today has been a day to check out Flickr some more, as well as how to link back and forth between the blog.

I have learned that I need to have images that are in jpg, gif or png file format in order to upload them to the blog.

So I will need to do more research to upload my little animation because it is currently available in fla or swf file formats ..any suggestions compardres will be gratefully received!!

I tried to download a file conversion thingy at the poly but chickened out because I didn't have an adminstrators password!

 You get to see the raw photo before I got rid of the background cause we played with macs in photoshop over the river!

This is one of those cardboard jointed puppets like those that thousands of primary school children have been made to produce,connecting the separate pieces with split pins during their art class.

It was put together by my son in grade 5 and I used it to make an 8frame animation while I was at the poly class over the river.

So....joining separate pieces is the theme for this post and this is the image I uploaded to my brand new Flickr account

and just as this image became frame 1 of  8 frames that became a dancing dragon, this post is the first of seven more that looks at 2Flickr and 3photography and 4tags and 5groups, 6 http://photo-sharing-services-review.toptenreviews.com and what about a blurb about 7video on Flickr and the dancing dragon itself to make 8!

I learned from it that I needed more time than it gave to digest the information and that hooks to remembering are helpful; i.e.1. the DISCOVER approach
                                                 2. introduction of particular terms.e.g...DATA SMOG

I found the music really bugged me and muting it allowed me to focus on the information much better.

I learned a good definition of Information Literacy....
       .Information Literacy can be defined as the ability to articulate a problem to be investigated,
        locate and assemble information,
        scrutinize gathered resources,
        process and apply information toward a solution    and
        contemplate the effectiveness of the entire process.

Inquire ( I still keep wanting to spell it with an 'e')
Search
Collect
Organize ( american spelling rules!)
Verify
Express
Reflect

I consider myself fairly Information Literate, but it is always important to remind one's self about the need to cite references, be critical, remember what information we are actually looking for ( it is so easy to get sidetracked these days!). I have this opinion about myself because, checking against the definition, I usually follow these steps closely.
